Now, heavy metal has it’s own sub genres, examples such as: Black metal, Death metal, glam metal, groove metal, traditional metal etc. It was a recreation or sub genre to rock music, but metal involved using the more distinct and obvious sound which was adding a mass amount of distortion making the genre aggressive, masculine, powerful and loud. It’s said that the bands Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin and deep purple were the first on the heavy metal scene although this is debatable. Heavy metal came about in the late 1960s to early 1970s.
